Barbara Chassoul

Core member of nonsense, working on Luerl and Luajit

I started my Physics degree a few years ago, it was my passion at that moment but somehow along the road I was introduced to coding and since then learning by doing and self efficacy are two of my main principles, emphasized in open-source and focus on keep things simple and clean.

Multi-language ecosystems emphasizes the construction of software using tools for they specific role, this mix allows the development of applications that combine the qualities of its components. Scripting is hardly a fancy new idea but unlike most other dynamic languages Lua is designed for this purpose. In this talk we will cover Luerl, emphasizing its trade-off as thin skin on top of the BEAM ecosystem. The simplicity and small size in its design, and its use of a few simple but powerful mechanisms.
